Consult with Experts at the Polymers Center

Detailed Polymer Processing in Charlotte, NC

The state of North Carolina established the not-for-profit 501(c)6 Polymers Center of Excellence to advance knowledge, offer technical assistance, and create innovations in the plastics industry.

When the State of North Carolina provided funding for plastics experts in UNCC's Industrial Extension Service program in 1972, the Polymer Center was established. The facility, which was then situated on the UNCC campus, expanded in 1994 due to a collaborative venture with NCSU to create PEP (Polymers Extension Program).

PEP left the UNCC campus in 1999, becoming the Polymers Center of Excellence that exists today (PCE). For small-scale production, Polymers Technology Center (PTC) was added in 2012. Since then, the Polymers Center has influenced economic growth via instruction, research, and trial manufacturing.
