A Presentation On Sesotec’s “Flake Scan” Rapid Analysis Instrument
Event Details
SPE Carolinas Section Monthly Meeting
Date: October 20, 2021
Time: 11:00am – 1:30pm EDT
Overview
Following our Covid-induced drought, The Carolinas Section is pleased to announce that they will hold their first meeting in over a year at the Polymers Center of Excellence, 8900 Research Dr., Charlotte, on October 20th at 11:00 AM. The presentation will be by Nikolas Wolf, of Sesotec, who will be discussing the development of their Flake Scan machine.
Summary
Designed from the ground-up as a quality check for bottle flake, the Flake Scan quickly scans and displays the count of the flakes, their material of composition, their color, a count of metal contaminates detected in the flake, and the relative percentages of every polymer found in the sample. The Flake Scan has been nominated for “Recycling Machinery Innovation of the Year” in 2021. Included in the presentation is a demo machine on consignment here at the Center, which we will be featuring as Mr. Wolf makes his presentation. As part of our mission, we are pleased to bring to the SPE Carolinas Section technology heretofore unavailable in the United States. For those able to attend in-person, we will provide a box lunch.
